WORTHINGTON — The Planning Board continued its hearing on a Ridge Road solar and battery project to July 14. Fire Chief Mike Dondiego asked applicant Blue Wave for a roughly 5,000-gallon on-site water tank, noting the town's single tanker holds 3,000 gallons and mutual aid can take 20 to 45 minutes. Blue Wave consultant Kevin LaMalva of Fire Risk Alliance said water is not recommended on battery fires.
The company agreed to a 90-day permit review window and offered about $7,500 for fire department equipment. The Board of Health agenda item was deferred, and the continuance passed by voice vote with no opposition.
